Cycling Route: Coll de Rates and Castell de Castells
You begin your adventure from the Vuelta Turistica headquarters and gradually climb the Poggio, gaining about 250 meters of elevation. From there, you ride towards Benissa, passing through the charming villages of Senia, Lliber, Xaló, and Alcalali. Each of these villages offers a unique glimpse into the interior of the Costa Blanca. In Parcent, the well-known and popular climb of Coll de Rates begins, a challenging but rewarding ascent with stunning panoramic views at the top.
From Coll de Rates, head towards Castell de Castells.
After Coll de Rates, continue along a beautiful road towards Tarbena, where you can take a break and have a drink if needed. From Tarbena, the route proceeds to Castell de Castells over quiet roads with some additional elevation gain. The natural surroundings and tranquility make this part of the ride particularly enjoyable. From Castell de Castells, a long descent begins towards Benigembla, allowing your legs to rest while you enjoy the speed and the sense of freedom that a long descent offers.
A long gradual descent towards Calpe
From Benigembla, you head back to Parcent and turn right at Xaló. Here, there is a small climb, which presents one last challenge before you start the long, gradual descent towards Calpe. This descent takes you along the main road back to Calpe, where you ride through the town and return to the headquarters of Vuelta Turistica.
