Route Puerto de Tudons (137 kilometers and 2,160 meters of elevation gain)

This impressive 130-kilometer road bike ride with a total of 2,350 meters of elevation gain starts in the picturesque town of Calpe. From here, you head towards the main road to Altea. This ride, known as one of the longest and toughest routes ridden in groups from Vuelta Turistica, takes you along beautiful coastal towns and offers a unique view of the Mediterranean Sea. The first part of the route is relatively easy and takes you along the coast via Altea to L’Alfas del Pi. You pass several large roundabouts and can even admire the imposing buildings of Benidorm in the distance.

Via the town of Finestrat to Sella

After passing Benidorm, the landscape changes and the road begins to gradually climb. You ride through the charming town of Finestrat, where the real climb begins. The route to Sella is a beautiful stretch of road with lush nature and breathtaking views. As you climb towards Sella, you can see the picturesque town in the distance. This is the moment to catch your breath and enjoy the surroundings before the serious climbing starts.

12 kilometers to the top of Puerto de Tudons

From Sella, the challenging climb to the top of Puerto de Tudons begins. This section of the route covers about 12 kilometers and takes you to an elevation of about 1,000 meters. The climb has a total elevation gain of 630 meters, making this section quite challenging. The road winds its way up through the rugged landscape, with each turn bringing you closer to the top. Once at the top, you can enjoy a well-deserved break and the spectacular view.

Return to Calpe via Castell de Castells

After reaching the top, a fast descent follows through the villages of Alcoleja and Benasau, after which the road rises slightly again towards Gorga and Balones. After that, an alternating course of climbs and descents takes you to Castell de Castells. From this picturesque village, a wonderful long descent begins. Via Benigembla and Parcent, located at the foot of the famous Coll de Rates, you continue to descend until Alcalali. The final stretch of the ride takes you along the main road back to Vuelta Turistica in Calpe. Here, you can treat yourself to a refreshing drink or a recovery shake, the perfect end to a tough but beautiful bike ride.
